Welcome to the English Club Blog of Maia Secondary School! We invite you to join our blog and to go on this journey with us. Together, we can learn, share ideas and have some fun too. So, wherever you are from, please feel free to make comments. We'd love to read them. The video below portrays what we have accomplished in one year and a half. Let's keep up with the enthusiasm we've had so far!

Saint Nicholas Day
The tradition of Saint Nicholas Day, usually on 6 December, is a festival for children in many countries in Europe related to surviving legends of the saint, and particularly his reputation as a bringer of gifts. The American Santa Claus, as well as the Anglo-Canadian and British Father Christmas, derive from these legends. "Santa Claus" is itself derived from the Dutch Sinterklaas.
Saint Nicholas
Today is the 6th of December. In Germany people celebrate "Nikolaus". It is a special day, mainly for children. On Nicholas Eve, they leave plates outside, so that Nikolaus can offer them candies, fruit and sweets.
